So I had to write this now because it was to freaking awesome. Ok, so check it out...tonight some of us went to Rocky LaRue's for "Open Acoustic Jam", and Josh played some tunes and rocked the house once again. Our hearts were moved and we rooted our hearts out. But the best part about it all is when I talked to Josh as he was walking out of Rocky's. Apparently, the midget guy, Clay, part of the group "The HubKats", that puts on the show for "Open Acoustic Night" talked to Josh, pouring out his heart the best way he could find. He told Josh, as his eyes filled with tears, "Man...man...you are all that I want to be...I hear the words you sing and I wan that." When I heard Josh tell me that, I was moved because, I know for a fact the Lord is using Josh and his music. And God is tugging at that guys heart. So I would have to disagree with anyone who says that the Lord can not use some one in a place like a bar. So, keep Clay in your prayers. God is awesome and I love how He works, and I love that guy, Josh, for what he does.

Speaking of Josh...Saturday night he is playing at Sugar Brown's...so don't miss it! Caleb Green, Andy Eppler, Aaron Hale play one Friday night, so check those cool guys out too!

Alas, I return...

So, I return bringing apologies to my viewers (those that are left), and news of a return. Though little attention has been allotted to my entries, i have failed to alt least keep all of you up-to-date. Ya, this would of been here a lot sooner but my photoblog is being a punk.

So, ya, Sunday night Emily Harrison had a Bar-b-q/Party/Concert at her house. I t was awesome to have a great selection of musicians such as: Josh, Caleb, Andy, Sean, Kelsey, Megan, Chris and the parties very own Emily Harrison. All donations were to send Caleb to mission trip to England.

Josh, Caleb and Andy do there thing and every one loved as expected, because we all know these guys rock. I heard Andy Eppler (later with Kesley) play and was very impressed. So impressed that i bought his CD right then. So for those of you that have not heard Sean you need to go to Sugar Brown's Friday night to see him play (8ish i think). If you have heard him and do not have his CD yet, get on the ball and go here. And don't forget Josh's CD that you can still buy here.

We had some special guest that evening. The guys managed to talk Megan to play a couple songs, but I'm sure it did not take a whole lot of convincing. She was great as always. For those who stuck around to the very end got a real nice treat. Emily busted out and played us nice song. It was my first time to hear her, and I liked it.

There was a couple pretty sweet jam sessions too that the guys put together. Speaking of jam sessions in the front yard and back porch at various times throughout the evening we had people jamming out. We had Paul and Chris (with a nice crowd) in the front, Chrisanna and Seth on the back porch, and later Guy doing his thing on the back porch.

With the nice variety of people present, there was always something cool going on. Whether it was great music, Chris posing for the camera, Richard and Pearce throwing down some wrestling, Jennifer and Andy pulling off soem matrix moves, see and spell on Emily's refrigerator, tortilla toss games (using one's mouth), or slap the sponge-bob ball around game it was never a dull moment.

Ok here are some of the pics. of that evening, to see the rest got to my pictures.

Comparing the two legs, left leg: nice looking calf, non-swollen foot, and a sweet henna tattoo on it (thanks Emily)...right leg: gimpy peg leg, and the closest thing to a tattoo on it is the discolorization of bruising.

Observations while driving down 82nd St.:
--We are getting a Taco Bueno finally! (in between Indian and University)
--I saw a terrible looking wreck. Apparently a lady slammed her late model Ford into the back of dumpster truck. The dumpster truck was, of course, ok, but the other truck was f.u.b.a.r. Amazingly enough, the lady (late 20's - mid 30's) that was driving the truck was physically ok.

Observations at Little Panda
--My roommate's classmate can put down some soda...he bought two to start out with, then got up two more times for more...he's a machine.
--The place went to a slow hush as this huge guy who was roughly 250-300lbs and looked part Hawaiian walked in. The Chinese guy behind the counter was left with a confused face after the guy left. It was kinda funny because, he did not strike me as surprising, but he sure shut the place up.

Happenings at Burger King:
--I ended up throwing my cup at the lady behind the counter. I was tossing it up with the intention of catching it, but ended up missing and in my effort to try to recover it I tossed at her barely missing her. We both laughed and joked about it.
--I saw the scariest "crack attack" i have ever seen. The smelly/greasy guy setting a few tables in front of me stood up, and I almost gagged on my whopper. His shorts were below the half-way-point and he didn't seem to notice or care because when he came back to sit down nothing had changed. Due to my photoblog's wonderful uploading limits, i don't have pictures ready for Sunday. So on with Saturday. For those of you that, unfourtunetly missed Josh's CD release party, you really missed out. $5 got you in, but if you were cool at all you paid $10 to buy Josh's Cd (Inspired By Tuesday) and get in free. You also got a nice read "PAID" stamp that smeared off on youe clothes if you weren't careful. The overall turnout was nice, desipte the fact the Living Room like a sauna. The crowd was similar to the Sugar Brown's crowd times ten. Michael Merrel did all video for the concert with his nice expensive camera, and Emily Harrison took the photos of the concert.

Joe Morrow opend and started the show. I love his song "Without a word". Caleb Green came up after Joe and sang us some sweet tunes. Caleb's friend Kyle came up too and played some violin with Caleb Josh takes the stage and rocks it out. He had a lot of people come up and sing and jam with him. Caleb(he playes d some "old school" bass at one time), Kyle, Chris, and Jordan (on drums) join the stage at various times to jam along. Heather (who's vioce is awesome) made her sing debut with one of Josh's songs and the two sounded sweet. Josh's roomate, Justin joins him for a song as well to jam along Josh. Now on song 6, eveybody gets a special treat. Johnathan Baker gets on stage and does a tap dance routine as the guys jam out. That's right folks, Johnathan Baker can tap dance, tap dance good (he has performed in such places as New York). It was really sweet. Overall it was an awesome performance to help Josh get on the road for his touring.

Here are some of the pics. I took. You can go to my photoblog for all of them.

 <img width="140"height="110"src="http://64.239.129.76/assets/users2/thaddeus/2nightsinthelivingroom/gallery-msg-1084169506-2.jpg">

Update brought to you by the maker Constant Daydream

Thursday night was a fun filled evening. I started off by finding out there is a delay in my financial aid for school. Yea, that's real fun seeing how I'm freaking broke. After that I hung out with a friend I had not talked to in a while, Laci Anderson. I was so happy to hear that God is doing some awesome things in her life.

Enter "Friends" with friends. At about 7:30 I got to watch the final episode of "Friends" with some friends of mine. My new fun friend Racheal Rhea invited me to watch it at her friends house. I'm not a huge "Friends" fan(it's not that I dislike the show by any means, just that I haven't really followed it much), but it was sure to be good. And sure nuff it was, and all was a happy ending. The company was pretty fun to. At the house we were at, I was one of maybe by five guys surrounded by 15 some odd girls. So, it was never a dull moment (especially at itense moments of the show). I knew maybe two people there, Sara and Jana. The rest, there names escape me, except for Lauren (no one could forget this girl once you meet her), and couple of guys: Marshall and Oscar (because they both have unique names).

After that it was off the Candice's apt. She had invited me to another "Friends" party, but i could not be at both, so i showed up afterwards and played some Marion Cart (Gamecube style) and Uno(I love that game) with Candice, Josh, and Marla. Before I left, I got a chance to watch one of my favorite cartoons: Ren & Stimpy. I really wish I had cable sometimes because Cartoon network and Spike TV rock.

Other highlights:
My silver cross ring broke again!

Attention all viewers!

Updates coming real soon:
--Fun times with "Friends"
--Josh Rosenthal's CD release party (w/ pics.)
--A ton of random stuff
--And whatever happens within next 12 hours

Stay tuned...Same Bat-time, same Bat-place.

This is for you Marcus and Trent

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Sugar Brown's! There were lots of funny parts and we all laughed a lot but, I probably would never buy or rent the DVD. After the movie, some of us went to Sam's house to chill. There wasn't much to do, so I (and Ben at first) prank called those late night infommercials. After that I called a guy Sam knew and prank called him, and one: he believed my character (Timothy Tims) and two: the call went on for almost 12 min!

Rocky La Rues was in for a surprise.

Last night Rocky LaRues received a special treat, from our very own Josh Rosenthal. That's right Josh rocked the house last night. The boys and I meet again last night at Cricket's, and even though Plain Brown Wrapper was doing there thing (and doing it well), it was standing room only. So we ventured over to the neighboring "pub" and relaxed at a table. We soon find out that Wednesday nights are "open Acoustic Jam" at Rocky LaRues. Josh walked in expecting entertainment, and ended up being a part of it. So Josh gets up there, after a couple of other bands finished playing, to do his thing. After his first two songs the place gets a little quiet compared to the usual uproar. Everyone there got a real taste of some talent, and was actually listening. Don't get me wrong some of the guys before and after were not bad, well, actually they weren't all that good. Anyway, it was sweet to hear a little bit of unexpected jams by Josh last night. He even got his CD promoted as well.

Last Saturday was awesome. Joe Morrow opens up for Megan, and once again get to here Joe beyond the usual worship setting and it is "gude". Also, Megan rocks the house again, too. Nora Jones step aside, because this girl rocks with her jellies on!

* Two and a half more stinking weeks in this God-forsaken cast! AHH!

* Observations while driving:
-I was cruising along Indiana on the way to school, and a big rottweiler carelessly trots out of an alley and in front of my truck. Luckily I was paying attention and swerved fast enough (with no cars around) and barely missed the stupid dog's massive head, which would of left a nice dent in my grill, despite the grill guard.
-I passed this lady who was wearing plastic gloves while driving as if the steering wheel was toxic. They weren't surgical ones, but just cheap clear plastic ones. How strange.

* Observations while nodding off:
I was nodding off in my computer chair, entering a state of semi-rem sleep, and I began to dream about trying to catch an iron that I had knocked of an ironing board, and I woke up the next second to me jolting my hand out to attempt to catch the iron as if it was really there...funny.

* Observations in class:
-I saw my fellow classmates Dr. Pepper on the table and all I could think about all during class was, "I want a Dp, I need a Dp, I must get a DP."..."His DP looks real nice, fresh and cold, with the condensation still on it, mmm Dp." Some guys and I met up a Crickets Wednesday night just to kick back, relax, have a drink or two, and watch some great live music. Plain Brown Wrapper was playing and the rocked the house. It was my first time to see them perform and was quite entertained. I never was much of a hang out in a bar (bar/grill) type place kinda of guy, but then again I've always been under the impression that that kinda of place never has anything good going on. I'd say for the hanging out time, the music, and the random people you meet that you actually know having the same kinda fun is well worth the adventure.

Speaking of people you randomly meet that you know, I ran across our very own Jill Hoes hanging out with her cousin Ty (the greatest so I hear), and some of her other pep's. Well, for those of you who know or don't know Jill let me tell you some of the little dark secrets that I learned about her...HA....you thought I'd actually give you something juicy...HA HA! Ya, Jill was feeling pretty good though, and I did learn a lot about her in just a short amount of time. I think she was feeling a little better that I was. Although, one thing I will openly share is that the on going debate on whether Jill Hoes has a derrière has come to an conclusion. It is affirmed that Jill Hoes does infact have a backside despite some popular beliefs.

I also found out that night that my long time best friend, Amanda, is now out of the Army (4 years) for good. She just recently left Iraq, now stationed in Colorado, heading to Snyder (my hometown) now, and soon to be in Lubbock for fall semester.

Here is the only picture I have right now of my nephew, Crason, but more are sure to come.

Here is one of the pictures on my b-e-a-utiful niece during Easter.

A post before the post...

I'm a new uncle! Well, it has been a while since I've updated and it is greatly needed. As you can read on the tagboard I was often reminded of this in the kindest of ways. Further more, an update has arrived.

Island Party was not to bad, and probably would of been more exciting for me had I not showed up later and only stayed past midway through Shaun Groves. But I toped Saturday evening off with a good dose of the someday famous, Josh Rosenthal followed by Caleb Green. The boys and I had cigar night on Matt's boat out at Buffalo Spring Lake close to 10pm. It was pretty sweet just cruisn' around a bit and then chillin', smoking a cigar in a boat in the middle of a (very small ) lake that was lit soley by the stars. We made a few prank calls while we were out there too (fun times). We got some people pretty good too. The funniest time was when we all see Ben Catalano lung forward yelling "Not on me!, NOT ON ME!" Apparently Michael got sick due to the swaying of the boat, and lost it over the side just missing Ben. The funny thing about Ben, is that we learned to listen to him last night. All night in the boat he was telling Matt to check to see if the motor would turn over (apparently the with all the on-board lights and custom stereo system, the battery could only take so much alone). And each time he tried it did turn over, and we told him to stop freaking out. Well, the fun ended shortly after about the tenth time he said it, because now the motor would not turn over. There we are, stuck in the middle of the lake, seven guys, all by ourselves in the boat with no power. We soon found out that skis make good for makeshift paddles in the time of need. After about 10min of paddling we managed to make it into the nearest dock to tie up the boat and leave it over night...and then we notice that the storm was proceeding ever closer to the lake. That posed a problem, because Matt really didn't want his boat to sink. On the trek back across the lake on land, my gimp leg and I can't keep up. So I got to ride piggy back most of the way back to the trucks via Ben Cat. and Kyle ( the man , is a beast ) Well, with the great minds of Matt, Daniel, and Ben Cat., they manage the convert Daniel's truck battery into a temporary power source (the boat and truck batteries are totally different by the way), and we eventually "get out of dodge" close to 1am. It definitely made for an eventful night. So what did we learn from that night:

-- Smoking cigars in boat at a lake at night rocks
-- It's ok to listen to Ben, he knows what he is talking about
-- Micheal gets sea sick
-- Skis make good paddles when you have no real paddles
-- Kyle can carry a 180lb guy on his back effortlessly for quite a while

Happy easter to all my peps!

Here are some cool things that I found and some crazy news out there

Our very own Homestarrunner has made it in an article in the March 29th edition of Newsweek. That's a good way to "start em' young", with kids growing up loving the taste of vodka. Don't get me wrong, I can do a little liquor/mix-drink, but I don't think that vodka flavored icecream would tickle my fancy. I wonder if it comes in Parrot Bay flavour!..LOL

Speaking of tickle my fancy...I pulled up yesterday to school and say something that completely dropped my jaw. Apparently the lady that parked in front of me had her "secret stash" stowed away in the trunk of her car. The is not ordinary secret stash, but a freaking mother load (couple crates full) of Dr. Pepper! For me it , was like Sir Robin seeing the image of the Holy Grail in "Search for the Holy Grail". Yes, I like Dr. Pepper that much, now back off! Oh, sorry bout that. So as I got out of my truck, I say to her "So, you like Dr. Pepper, eh?", while she locks her trunk. She is slightly startled and replies "Uh, uh, ya." I guess this lady has an addiction far greater than mine.

From a broken foot to Bar-B-Q

Some would say that I had an eventful past few days, and I would, in fact have to agree with them. Well, here is the story...Ounce upon a time...wait wrong one. Ok, I guess it all starts early Friday morning around 12:30a.m., racing to my friends truck (running from the scene of a prank gone wrong). But the thing is, I am running full speed in sandals. These two reallt do not go hand in hand. Funny, these sandals are green and look like they are made of fine cut welcome mat stuff (no wonder I feel welcome everywhere I go). So, I'm hauling some freakin booty, and I encounter an elevation change in the terrain. I go from sidewalk to parking lot, and was not prepared for it. Well, in the time it takes a hummingbird to flap it's wings 3.5 times the following happened: I caught the ground with the edge of my sandal and my pinky toe at about 8-10mph, my foot rolls underneath me with 180lbs of pressure above it, my upper 5th metatarsus breaks and shifts a few millimeters, I tuck-and-roll in mid fall, my nerves shoot signals to my brain, lightning bolts of pain rip through my body, I attempt to stand up, and fall back to the ground. My friends (Kyle, Sam , and Ben) still recall the fast breathing and pain stricken face while I was hold in the pain anddoing everything in my power not to yell out in agony. The next "scene" reminds me of soldiers going back for a downed soldier and carrying him back to safety in "Saving Private Ryan". Back at Kyle's truck we are all relieved to find out I can put pressure on my foot. So, my ankle is not broken, as feared, but the ever increasing knot on the side of my foot was not looking good. I could walk (somewhat) so I didn't go to the hospital, but getting it checked out later that day was the plan. Then Kyle takes me back to my truck conviently parked at a 24hr Eckard's where I left it. So, know I am limping my way through Eckard's to my some med's. On my way out, I have a little conversation with a guy that is kinda funny:

mystery man: "Having a f@#$ed up day, huh?"
mr: "You could say that."
mystery man: "Man that is f#$@ed up." (as he sees the reason I was limping)
me: "Tellin me" (with a half smile)
Then he proceeds to tell me about how his doctor could "fix me right up" (this guy has a little more than a hint of redneck in him)
mystery man: "Man that's f#$@ed up, good luck to ya man."
I think I heard half of his vocabulary in 3 min.

Now, after having iced my foot all night, and when I woke up, I proceed to the only doctor I know in town...Dr. Funk M.D. He is a really cool guy, and it goofy at times, but knows his stuff. He determined that I broke my upper 5th metetarsus, and the X-rays confirmed it. It was almost jacked up enough to have to have a screw put in, for sure. But, the orthopedic surgeon he called (who I am going to go see tomorrow) figured just a air-cast would work, and I hope he does not change his mind, or I'm "screwed"...LOL But, I can't wait for the cast because I hate crutches.

So now to the fun stuff. We had a Bar-b-q for my roomate, Johnathan on Saturday for his B-day, and I'd say it was pretty good. So early in the day my roommate, his fiance, and the "gimp" (me) went to United to by the meat at stuff. Well, for all of you who have always wanted to ride on automatic carts, I took for the pleasure for you. It was pretty fun. I almost took out a few fellow customers, and got a lot of strange looks. 6:00p.m. was kick off for the bar-b-q and it all started with watching some Final Four on CBS. Well, Oklahoma almost pulled it off. Bring on the food, baby! We cooked some "delish" brisket and some (little burned) chicken. A few of us(4 of 15) had a little more than the food. Little to everyone's knowledge, we had a little secret bootlegging going on out of my room..."Target"...a little Parrot Bay goes a long way. I think all the red cups you see in the pictures that are "in hand" are "special cups". Midway through, the Halo Tourney begins. For all you Halo fans out there, we had 6 people free-for-all...a.k.a a bloodbath. Me and some of the "boys" toke part in such fine pleasantries with some fine cigars. Hmm, very nice. As it died down some of us played some more Halo. It wasn't the most happening place, but I'd say we all had fun. Of, course knowing me, an hour into the night the Advil really kicks in and I get feed up with my crutches, so I just sort of hop/limp around for the night. Not the doctors exact orders but, oh well. I'll probably hear it tomorrow.

Sunday service was good this mourning. I was exhausted, but didn't doze for a sec. One of the verses really stuck out to me: Romans 4:17b:"...he brings things that do not exist into existence." He gave Sarah a child from a barren womb, and gives us life where there ounce was none! WOW! How awesome is that...My God rocks, and he is a big freaking God! I also watched Matchstick Men tonight, and that movie I think is pretty sweet. Nicholas Cage, Sam Rockwell, and Alison Lohman did a fantastic job especially Nicholas and Alison. It is definitely one of those movies that makes you really think about what is going on, and you can easily get lost in it. I found myself really getting into it, and feeling the emotions of the characters. I'm no master movie critic, but I definitely recommend renting it.

Pictures of the BBQ! To see them all go to My Pictures

Good times with the Shane and Shane and the gang...

So, Sunday night was pretty awesome! I went to the Shane and Shane concert (part of there "Carry Away" tour) at Trinity church along with hundreds if not more fellow Lubbockites and those from abroad. I must say that it was great, and better than last years concert at the Lubbock Auditorium. First of all let me just say that it was great to see lots of faces that I had not seen in a long while, and of course a lot that I see everyday.

Well, first of all the drummer was playing some of his stuff right before the concert started, and this guy, who's name escapes me, has some mega talent with the drums and such. I think his CD was the first to sell out. If anybody knows his name and the name of his CD (Adcore, I think, let me know because I want to buy that CD, or if you can burn it for me, but I'd rather buy it to support the guy.)

Now, one of my favorite artist took the stage first...Shaun Groves. Ahhh...I just love his tunes...they speak to my heart. Ya, "Abba Father" gets me everytime...the tears man, the tears! Plus the guy is pretty funny, and yet so honest. "We appreciate you showing up to watch us do our jobs, it's weird, but it's cool" -- Shaun Groves . He also talk about the true meaning of worship, and how as a Christian society we so often misunderstand that for a song. I was definitely on board with that, and believe that to be so true. I was mainly glad that we have Christian musicians, like Shaun ("Shaun 'Puffy' Groves" as Ginny called him), telling it how it is instead of telling you how to worship. He even sang a song about it, but due to my horrible short-term memory, I forgot the name. (Get back to me in a month or two and I can tell you...LOL) His song about Texas was funny, too. I just love the guys music period.

Now, Ginny Owens was pretty cool too. I think I have heard some of her songs on Air1, but Sunday I heard them live and I liked what I heard. She has this unique voice that kind of draws you in. Plus the fact that she is blind and not slowing down for a second is awesome. I mean I have no disabilities (aside from the mental one's that the doctors can't explain) and do I live full fledge for the Lord using what God gave me...no. That speaks volumes to me.

<img width="190" height="170"src="http://www.ginnyowens.com/images/promo_shots/2.jpg">

Now these two guys Shane Barnard and Shane Everett sound so awesome together. I like them more and more I hear them, seeing how I am sort of a newer Shane and Shane fan. This is the best Shane and Shane experience I have had, also seeing how I have only had two. There was some great worship going on, and no I don't mean "worship songs" but people getting down with the Spirit. I'd say overall all the guys, and girl...played with there hearts for the Lord, and we saw that. I'm just hacked because I spent my last 10 bones getting in, that I could buy a sinlge CD or t-shirt. Oh, well, "life goes on" (another great song).

Also found at www.waitingroommistries.com.

Constantdaydream v.3.???

I added some new links and games to my blog. Well, one thing I learned (again) from that was, working out hard on an empty stomach is not a great idea. So needles to say after a while I got sick and had to do the unpleasant. Well, it gets better. I had a nice quite time setting in my, "long time borrowed", chair from the Plantation Apts. on my front porch while the weather was still nice and cool. Later I headed to sugar Brown's to meet with Johnathan Baker, only to have a great conversation. But the greatness soon ended as his starter (what seemed like just his starter) went out. Justin Bernard, Johnathan, and I spent probably over a hour narrowing down the problem and then calling around to find the best deal for a new starter for the guy. We finally find a great place that Justin knows well, C & H Generator. Well, Johnathan tries his 4Runner one more time, and it somehow (barely) starts and dumps the smoke out. But the good news is he made it the shop. I go back in to talk to Justin, and we exchange some crazy "breaking down in the middle of nowhere" stories, and he also tells me that I was in one of his dreams. Apparently, in his dream, he came into work to find some new artwork on the wall, and he asked someone who did this, because he liked it, and that person told them that it was me...now I'm no artist/painter (at least not yet), but that was kinda crazy/cool. Later, Kyle Wylie shows up, from hanging out at Mountain Hideaway and we go to Thai Thai for lunch. It was my first time there, but it was soo good. I got the Genghais Kahn Beef plate...mmmmmmmmm. Well, that good eatin' kinda put me in the mood for nap. So I head to the house to do so.

Well, since I had two cups of coffee several hours before that, I got very little quality nap time. Although, I had a quick dream, that I was in Sugar Brown's...ahhh...too much time at the coffee shop. I wake up in time to mess around and change all the fonts for this blog, and get ready for class. Class was gude! I'm learning more and more stuff about writing, and enjoying writing more and more all at the same time. After class I head to the usual spot you can find me...Sugar Brown's. Hung out with Daniel, Josh, Ben, and Guy. I got to know Guy pretty good, and that guy is pretty cool, and we has a lot of things in common. Great times, good people, only at Sugar Brown's!...LOL

Now that everybody is back...

Well, spring break was not all that much for me, but I was glad to hear of all the great times everyone had. One because I did about absolutely nothing, and I am still unemployed. Ya, it sucked. But, spring break weekend was pretty good, and as you can assume I am about to tell you about it. Friday night, Sugar Brown's had David Matsler play. I was impressed, one because he played on Friday, when there was a "sold out crowd" (Sugar Brown's actually had about five customers including me for the average of the night), two because he brought some great talent, great vocals, and he can beatbox! I also, found out that Switchfoot is coming to the Hub City April 1st at Jake's. Tickets are at Select-a-Seat and are $16

Now Saturday was a great day! First of all I slept in till 12:30p.m. and then had lunch at Cilantros with my friend Daniel. I don't think that either one of use finished our burritos since they hooked us up. Next went to Walmart to buy the classic "Scarface" on DVD, then headed to the Buffalo Springs Lake. We went boating in Matt Mitchell's sweet lil' boat. Nobody got in the water because it was probably less that 60 degrees. Well, the fearless soul (that Matt later called me ) that I am backfliped into the lake at demanded that innertube, because I was in the mood for tubing. Ya, the water was ice-cold, but then there is mind-over-matter. The tubing was great...I'm a hard guy to through off the innertube. Well, I was ready for some real action, so I taunted Matt a bit. Needless to say, next Matt floored the engine, got some speed going, and took a hard left. The next thing you know, I scream "Oh, Crap!!", because I new the end was near. Ever seen a human skip across the lake, well it happened, and when it did I ended up involuntarily mooning the guys because my shorts almost came off. Needless to say that, that was the last of tubing forthe day because I could no longer feel my body. Me and my fearlessness will someday come back and bite me, but till then I rock on. So, next we have a Bar-b-q at Matt's: great choice steak, Jones Soda, and some Monte Montgomery jammin in the background.

After the Bar-b-q we headed to Sugar Brown's to hear some good jams brought to you by Sugar Brown's very own Marcus, the Joni Nichols Band (well part of them), and the super talented Caleb Green. And great jams are exactly what we got. Marcus opened it up very nicely, getting better and better the more I hear him play. The Joni Nichols band followed, and Joni has a sweet voice, that sound like Sheryl Crow. Then Caleb Green played and rocked the house. If you haven't heard this guy play, you need to. The guy has plenty of soul...so much soul that the back door is cracked. I bought a copy of all of his CD's and listened to them all already, and I must say this guy is real good. After all that jazz at Suga's we ended the night at my house by watching "Scarface". It's a great flick, but it is definitely for select audiences only.

Sunday, I heard the testimonies of several of those that went on the Salt Lake Trip. Not only did I realize that I should of been on that trip, but it opened my eyes to some of the more important things in life. And the fact that I don't focus enough on those things. Whoa...the craziest thing just happened. I was jamming to Caleb, and I thought I heard a noise in my house, so I pause the CD...nothing...then I hear it again...nothing. I thought to myself, "I didn't hear my roommate walk in.". So I walk do the hallway only to find my roommate jump out and scare the freaking crap out of me. I was surprised that I didn't swear. And my heart just got finished racing. Oh, payback is such sweet sorrow.

Quotes:
"You know what great about working here, as the night progresses, I say more and more things that I normally would not say." --Paul Bane

"Is this your little black book...am I in it...do you want me to be in it?"--Meg

Back to the Roots

I went home this past weekend to Snyder, and first of all let me just say that I almost forgot how country that town is. Friday night, the first thing that I ended up doing was locking my keys in my car. Well, my roadside assist service couldn't get a hold of anyone that after 9:00. So, I borrow a ride to go to the bowling alley to bowl with my sister, and I still suck at it (couldn't get over 100).

Saturday morning I wake up to find Snyder's finest trying to unlock my truck. Apparently my Mom called them while I was asleep. By the time I get outside, I'm thinking, how many cops does it take to open a freaking truck door. Well, three finally figured it out. Later, I went to the Rattlesnake round up in Sweetwater, with my family that goes on ounce a year. What's that you ask. It's flea-markets, meet the fair, meets a Rattlesnake show hosted in the coliseum. They got flea-markets, funnels cakes to fried pickles, and rides outside. Then on the inside you have a plethora of rattlesnakes. Stuffed rasttlesnakes, rattlesnake Beer (that's right beer), rattle snake handlers weighting, milking, and skinning rattle snakes. It fairly entertaining for a day. I did hold a rattle snake...that was cool. Towards the end of the day, I found a shop that was selling Starbucks coffee cheap! They saved the day.

Sunday mourning for my Mom's church, they had the Warren family. Well before I could even get there my piece of crap truck breaks down. They travel around and sing gospel and the husband preaches. The whole family is pretty dang talented. They had, acoustic and steel guitars, a mandolin, and a even a banjo. They are from around Louisiana, so needless to say it was some "good ole" gospel southern style. Here is a quote form Mr. Warren: "You know those cat biscuits, the ones you press you thumb in and fill the hole with syrup...them make a rabbit want to hug a hound." I finally get my truck fixed amd running again after church. I am so ready to watch that truck drive of a cliff. On my way out of Snyder, I had some Chicken Express, and I had forgotten how freaking good there tea is. If you never have had any Chicken Express tea, I recommend you get some.

Frank Sinatra in your dreams?

Ya, that is exactly what is going on. I spent all afternoon writing my paper for my English class, that was due later that afternoon, ahh! So I'm frantically typing my paper exploring both sides to the good and bad effects of coffee. I had already brainstormed most of it, the day before, at Sugar Brown's (of all places...a coffee shop). So I'm researching the various topics on coffee on the internet and doing a lot of personal reflection since I am an avid coffee drinker. Heck, I'm still wired form the coffee (best house blend in town) I drank tonight at Sugar Brown's. Anyway, as I type the clock hours pass, and I finish just in the nick of time. I have just enough time to through some clean ( well, almost clean...they smelled fresh), and race across town to Wayland, in hopes of cutting James Smith off in the parking lot, but lucky for him he did not have class tonight.

This week is spiritual emphasis, at Wayland, so between 7:30-8:15pm we get a nice little break from class to hear a speaker and do some worship. It's not the not directed for all audiences, but I believe the Lord is using it regardless. Plus we get free coke floats during this too. So mad props to Wayland.

So ounce again, I end up at Sugar Brown's for some good social time, and great brew. Well, that happened needless to say. I shares my addiction to blogging with Heather, and we decided that there needs to be an Bloggers Anonymous. The rest is of the night is nothing fancy, just great socialization. So, it appears that, maybe I'm not really all THAT lazy, just a nightowl. Ya, that sounds better!

Peace out peps!

Hey, here is a little shout out, for all you praying types, Thaddeus needs a job pretty bad, seeing how he is unemployed at the moment. It feels good to ounce again step back into the blog community that is ever growing. For instance I found out yesterday that my English professor, Matthew Vermillion, is a blogger too. I was surprised and excited all at the same time. I just goes to show how wide spread this is, or how little I know of what is already out there. Now to catch up on everything from theses past week or so.

Saw a flick-

I saw the passion the day after it was released and, I must saw that, it is a perspective changing movie. I walked out of the theater rendered speechless, with my head down. I was just taking by the fact that my Savior was just beaten, tortured, and crucified. I was not news to me, just I never really thought deeply of the physical aspect of it vs. the knowledge of his sacrifice that required the cross. Times throughout the movie, I felt as if I was actually there in the crowd watching with the others. But, I will admit that My savior is a freaking CHAMP! Takes a tremendous beating and gets right back up. I am thankful that this movie has effected non-believers as well. I know, because one of my friends that was with me, who is not saved, is asking a lot now. Also, The Passion kick butt in the box office too. Although, I feel that Mel could of added a lot to add some clarity, especially to know believers, but it did grasp the title of the movie.

Heard some great tunes, with great coffee:

Andy Epller, Joe Morrow, and Josh Rosenthal, all at Sugar Brown's are the ingredients to a Saturday evening well spent. First of all Andy is only 18?,and he is packed full of great talent. Also, it was an reunion of sorts, because I found out I actually new the kid from 3 years back. Joe Morrow, WoW! I always new that Joe could sing very good, but for the first time Tuesday night and again on Saturday evening, I heard Joe bust out and ring it, the multi-range phenomenon that he is. Josh Rosenthal, a artist of a musician. He sounded great, and had a good time as always. And, last, but certainly not least, Sugar Brown's! I just like tha place more and more each day that I go there (which is almost everyday). Not only does Sugar Brown's make the best coffee in town, but they also accommodate those non-coffee drinkers as well. They have cokes, Arizona Green Tea, and the news thing I am learning about is Jones Soda. Peacre said it best, "I'm Jonesin' for a Jones".

Read some good Word:

I been studying a lot about Genesis latey for my Old Testament class, and I am actually enjoyin it. Never before have I taken such pleasure in reading the early books of the Old Testament. The creation, genealogies, and stories of early Genesis has been a great read. Sunday I'm all last week I'm haggin at Sugar Brown's (best coffee, prices, atmosphere), Sunday I'm at Starbucks because Suga's is not open on Sunday's (I got free coffee for reasons I don't know there that day, how cool is that), and last night I studying at Daybreak. I ended up there because, I call Joe Marrow, and he tells me Suga's is packed like some sardines, and Starbucks was crowded again, so I mozzy on down to the Daybreak, where my coffee shop days began (roots baby, roots). But I still will stay loyal to Suga's (when possible). Plus, those guys support local bands, and have someone there playing almost every Friday and Saturday night. I found out today that, Marcus, who works at Suga's is quite talented, both vocally and with the guitar. I got to hear some of his tunes while kicking back at Joe's (who went off a little bit himself), and I liked what I heard. Mad props, ounce again to Sugar Brown's.

What would you do for the Kingdom?

So, really what would you do for the Kingdom (God's Kingdom).
What would you be willing to sacrifice for to keep fighting the fight.
That has really hit me recently and I don't know if I could answer that off the top of my head.
Well, althought Ronnie Lott did not make his sacrifice for the Kingdom of the Lord, his story should be an example of how we should be willing to sacrifice despite the cost to get back in the fight. During a football game with the 49er's Ronnie Lott shatters his pinky finger. The doctors recommend that he gets surgery for his finger. But Ronnie did not want to miss any second on the field. So instead of going along with the doctors, he decides to do what he has to do to get back in the game. He chose a to get his about half of his freaking pinky amputated...cut-off, and to this day is still missing. I was dumbfounded when I heard this story, and realized that I am a panzy compared to that guy. What would you do to sacrifice for the kingdom? Would you cut off part of your body?...something to think about.

Unleash me from myself!

Father, take my mind off myself.
So often, even from the minute that I wake, my mind is on me.
Why is that?...My pride, my stinking pride.
With my pride, I think on myself and the matters "concerning" myself, and these things are merely temporal.
They all fade away.
You, Lord, are eternal, and you are the reason that I am alive, and the reason that I am living.
God, unleash me from myself!
Free me from my dreams, and plunge me into your Glory!

excerpt from: "Leather-bound Thoughts" a.k.a. my journal

Winter Wonderland has arrived, but it is a few months behind. Enter Blog-Mania!!!

How crazy is this...At Sugar Brown's (a hopping new coffee joint) some great talent, Meagan (Graham on guitar) and Nathan, put on a lil' concert and a plethora of bloggers e\nd up showing up. Hold Up...Bloggers Done Showed UP! We got Jill, Whitney, Pearce, Kim, Hoover (who I just met today), Jib, Megan (how also recently met), Nathan and myself. Those are just the ones I knew about. It's funny (maybe just to a fellow blogger) how all this came together, or is it. I traced the root, found the culprit, who name I can not divulge. OK, I will...thanks be to Pearce. Wither he knows it or not, he managed to get the word out directly or indirectly to these bloggers, even as far as Denton (where Jib resides). You could find mention of the concert in a couple of his post, and even several comments. Who needs flyers when you have, Pearce...what a great guy.

Now as far as concert goes, it was really good. I was my first time to her both Nathan Pettijohn and Megan Henry. Megan brought a beautiful voice you don't hear too often, which is nice. I guess you could say it was comparable to Nora Jones, some of which she sang. And she gave her justice, awesome tunes Meg, if I must say. Plus the Sugar Brown's finest Emily Harrison wrote a great some that Meg sang. Now Graham, what can I say, he rocks. Not only is he insanely funny, but he has some skill with that guitar. Did anyone catch his speaker powerlifting attemp...that was hilarious. Nathan brought it too, and his strumming was hummin' Course by this time I was mingling away, but from what songs I heard, I liked. Overall it was a sweet show.

By the way for those of you out there that live in Lubbock, and have not gone to Sugar Brown's, need to serious go see what they are missing. There coffee and coffee drinks are the best I have had so far, sorry Starbucks and Daybreak, I think my loyalty has changed. The environment is phlegmatic with a splash of sanguine here and there, if you can look at it at a personality perspective. The staff is awesome, and Justin (owner/manager) really knows what he is doing there.

Here are some quotes I heard or read, mostly from today:
-"that's good, like crazy good"--JC
-"Oh, somebody is bound to pee in my cheerios".--This was in response to telling a customer to have a nice day, through the speaker for the drive-through lanes at work. That's one way to say you're ganna have a bad day.
-"It's like apples, first that smell great, then they don't, then they do again."--Andy (met at Sugar Brown's)
The next two are quotes that my friends wrote on my mini notebook:
-"Yeah, a 60 is a bad grade, but its a lot better than having 60% of the world's population as vampires. Now THAT would be bad."--Whitney's Personality Professor
-Jill: What instrument do you specialize in?
Nate: My butt.--just found it written, can't explain it

Snow and Lubbock drivers do not mix.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...wait what the crap, no it's not it's just the random weather of Lubbock, TX. So it snowed today, but it didn't really snow. Why can't we just get some good ole' fashion snow (maybe actually around Christmas) that we all know from our childhood...building snowmen, snowball fights, sledding, and various winter wonderland activities. I miss those childhood days some times, easy living that was carefree. You didn't have to work, school was not stressful, and everything was provided for you.

Thought it was not real snow weather, Lubbock drivers ounce again did not fail to "freak out" and forget how to drive because the weather changed. A few days ago a customer at my work comes in to do a transaction. Based upon his semi-weather proff attire and things I pick up on in our conversation, I can to the conclusion that he was a rider, motorcycles that is. Of course, I asked him, and my calculations were correct. I then proceeded to tell him the that my father was killed on one three years ago, and that despite that fact I still had a great desire to ride someday. He was a bit taken by my statement, but then smiled and said as he was about to leave..."Well, maybe I'll see you in the wind someday." I just thought that was really awesome that he said that, and it still makes me smile when I think upon it.

Well, today, I thought of my father again, but this time it was in a daydream I had drifted into at work (only when we are extremely dead at work, of course) Ya, LOL, I do it while I am helping my customers. Man, they really hate that. Anyway, seriously, while in my almost coma inducing daydream I drifted off and somehow a thought of a time machine came to mind, and I asked my self what I would do with a time machine. I came to the conclusion that I would (as far from possible it its) travel back three years ago, and prevent my the accident my father was in that killed him on his motorcyle. Or, maybe, seeing how that his death was the event God used to change my life to Him, I would just revisit that afternoon prior to when God took him home, and just cherish it all over again, and say the things I wish I would of said, and ask more questions about him. So, say, if for some bizarre reason you came across a time machine what would you do with it?

An eventful Saturday...

Today was eventful, compared to the usual, for me at least. My mourning starts off too soon, considering the lack of sleep prior, but goes straight into good-times with the "boys" at bible study. Then comes in the great food that I just mentions earlier with all the same guys. Next comes the all time low off the day...watching the TTU men's basketball game up against Kansas. Well before the game actually starts Chris and I make a Sonic run for a few of us. Well there we got to watch the graceful car-hop drop half our drinks...SPLASH!!! But we get new ones and on our merry way. Now back to the TTU basketball game, well actually I don't want to talk about it now, because they just sucked, plain and simple. But that was all overcome after watching "MIRACLE" at the movies tonight. Not only was it a great movie (that I will buy on DVD), but it gave me a feel of victory that overcame the feel of discussed thanks to TECH. During the movie there are certain times that you feel as if you are actually part of the history being show. Maybe it is the cinenamatography or the feel it gives you, but I caught myself getting riled up, cheering, and even chanting U..S..A, U..S..A, as if I was there. Later I come home to watch "Blue Collar Comedy Tour", only to find it very funny. Although, hilarious, it is definitely not for all audiences.

Can one eat to much great wall?

Yes that is the question, can one person eat too much "legendary" (maybe in lubbock it is) Mongolian bar-b-q from Great Wall. I took the pleasure of taking part Great wall for lunch yesterday (of which I ate so much that I almost feel asleep standing up, at work), and today me and my "brothers" took part in the wonderful meal. There was about ten guys there, so you can imagine it was all great talk. So I'm thinking, as good as Great Wall is, I wonder if I could go for a third day. I mean the food is good (if you get the "one trio" and not order from the menu), the water is actually great too since it is filtered and all, and who can complain about the price, especially for what you get. You can get "one trip", water, and desert (rum sunday w/ nuts thank you) for only $5.88. And if you write a check, it is pretty much guaranteed to not be cashed/deposited for about two weeks. So if you have never taken part in the "cult" that is Great Well, then I definitely recommend it.

William Wallace said it best.

Yo, VIP...Let's kick it. Alright Stop, calaborate and listen, I'm back with brand new invention, something...grabs a hold of me tightly, flow like a hawk.......oh, wait. I'm no vanilla ice, just some cracker with a new post. Yes, the people ask for a new post, the people get a new post. Ok on a serious note here it is.....Today I was in early afternoon daydream, staring out the large main windows at my job, when all of the sudden the words FREEDOM speed across my view. Well, my view, is actually looking across a busy street that runs in front of my job, and what the words actually were, was a city bus that was painted a desert camo green (tanish-green) and it had the large words FREEDOM written across it. It just hit me all the sudden, FREEDOM, like William Wallace screaming it on his charge to battle. I had to ask myself, what does that really mean to me? Is it the fact that I live in America, were compared to the rest of the world, life is good, where there is no fear of a ruthless dictator, where the is opportunity for anyone to "succeed in life", where you have the right to do about anything. No...that is not freedom to me. Don't get me wrong, I am very grateful that I live in America. No, freedom for me is, freedom from the wretched grips of sin. To live a live were sin no longer has mastery me, and I no longer, through the grace of God alone, dwell in the "realm" (thank you Dusty Thompson), but live in the realm of grace, God's wonderful grace. To have the freedom to have abundant joy, through glorifying God. Though I am not always the best at glorifying God, I certainly have the freedom, through Christ to do so. After all, it is what I was created for. So, be thankful you live in America, where you can express you true freedom, and most importantly be thankful that Christ paid the way so that we (as believers) can truly be free.
...let's get out of here. I start thinking about all the nature that is around my job, trees, various plants, and such, and with Piper lingering in my mind I just thought about how nature appears to worship upward. Sure, logically you say that it is because of the sun, but I think it could very well represent a symbol of worship. The trees and various plants lifting upward, the mountains reaching high for the sky. It's almost as if the lift ou there "hands" to praise the Lord above. If all things are created for God's glory, and God finds glory in worship to Him, then just made nature does the same. " ...the whole earth is filled with His glory." Isaiah 6:3

" To wake up in the morning and be aware of the firmness, the warmth of the sun rays, the sound of the clock ticking, the sheer being of things...become alive to life...see what is there in the world - things that, if we didn't have, we would pay a million dollars to have, but having them, ignore...alive to beauty...notice there are daily wonders that will waken worship if I open my eyes." John Piper (sorry guys I had C.S. Lewis here, but soon realized it was John who wrote this, talking abotu C.S.Lewis and how he help him see all this, my apalogizes to those(Pearce) who thought C.S. wrote this)

SMACK!!!...You better put that back!!
So this mourning, while listening to the Kid Kradick Show (ya I actually get that bored at work), they had a special guest caller. I did not catch her name, but she had a real funny story. She was a black woman, that sounded like she was about 35sh. So what happens is she rounds the corner of her house after cleaning out part of her garage and finds a car that she has not seen before. Then she sees the a burglar trying to put her TV in his car. She walks over to him and says "You fixin to steal my TV.", then smacks him, with the shovel she already had in her hand. She tells him. " You best put that back from where's you got it " She said that his eyes got really huge, and it sounded like she scared crap out of him. Then she told told him, " You best pick it up, cause I aint bout to pick it up." He picked it up and she followed him all the way back up to her living room. Before he put it down, she smacked him again, because she said it looked like he was about to drop it and run. As soon as he put it back "where he got it" she told him " Now, turn around so I can hit you again.", and he did! So she hit him a few more times for being a fool for taking it as he ran out the door and down the alley. She said " He put his hands up, and told me " Please stop hitting me ma'am." ." She laughs and then says " I hit him like Sammy Sosa hits a baseball " I thought that was pretty funny how this woman, obviously not scared of anything, much less a simple thief, just smacks her burglar around and instills fear into him like a mother to a son. He goes from stealing to, respecting in 2 secs. flat. Then tells her that he could be listening, and if so what would she like to say to him. She replies "I got my own, player, I aint mad atch ya." "The Italian Stallion") and I that the grand lake of Lubbock as we know it, Lake Allen Henry was named after her father. I thought that was very interesting when I heard that while taking part in Lubbock's finest frozen custard at Sheridan's. If you have never graced Sheridan's with your presence I suggest you check it out. Not only is the frozen custard treats good, it comes equipped with heat lamps to keep you warm even in the coldest Lubbock "blizzards" while snacking on one of the many delights, a super friendly staff (minus the Catalano brothers...shady, very shady...LOL), plus it is also great place to met new people from all walks of life. Did I mention the frozen custard was good, I lied!...It's great!

Water-balloons, oh what a wonderful creation!
Two thumbs up to whoever's idea it was that started the craze. Now a water-balloon doesn't appear to be much, but when "applied" in the "correct" way can cause mass hysteria. Example: A water balloon raining down on unsuspecting victims in parking lots, via a powerful launcher. But hey, that's just my opinion. So if your a natural prankster much like myself (always in the most "responsible" way of course), then you can enjoy and maybe even relate. LOL, I laugh again I recall the launch....the arc....and the uncanny accurate decent...then SPLASH!!. And to top it off, is the thrill that can accompany this event...when the unsuspecting victim turns into a enraged victim, thus begins the rush of being pursed(in the words of various knights of Monty Python..."Runaway!!), and the satisfaction of having eluded those in chase! Funny how we as humans can take such enjoyment in someone else's suffering.

Is the apocalypse near?
So it's 12:30 am,and my roommate just woke up to share his tripped out dream with me! Aside from a nightmare I've never had a dream so real and intense(leaving you fatigued and in a cold sweat), that you wake up to tell the other person who was in it too. So yah, as I build the suspense up, back to the "DREAM"...He dreams that while cruising along remote Lubbock somewhere, we witness the end of the world. Craziness such as large cloud formations descending on the earth only to explode with such force that it vapourize the land around it to nothing, falling into a sea and almost drowning, swimming to a escalator that rises to heaven, to finally come to the feast with the Lord Himself. Here's the kicker, the feast was, as he described it to be, the best one could ever fathom, on finest of silver. Is that crazy or is that crazy...ok, that is crazy? Maybe he took a certain hallucinogen, without sharing, LOL!! But either way it's one to make you think. Are you ready for the return of the big G...O...D!

This is a test of the local broadcast network...

First time blogger I am, so it is safe to assume that this post will not be the most...more like "short and sweet".
